Tomorrow Ian Livingstone will be doing a talk at Brunel, in LC 266 at 11:30.
From Steve Jackson:
For those of you who weren’t at the talk on Tuesday I’d like to remind you that our next speaker is Ian Livingstone, who will be telling us about the history of Eidos and in particular of the phenomenon that was/is Tomb Raider. His talk will cover the importance of brands in the business of game development, from both the developer and from the Publisher’s point of view.
Ian Livingstone was Creative Director at Domark at the time that the Putney-based games developer merged with Eidos the video compression company in the mid-1990s. He is the only person at Eidos that has been involved right from the start. He has been Creative Director and Chairman of the company and since the Square-Enix takeover he has been given the title of ‘Life President’

Hi everyone,
It is with great regret to announce that there will be no LAN event on Sunday 13th December; as originally scheduled. This is due to not enough people being able to commit to the event. The workload this year has been very heavy for many people, with many assignments having deadlines next week. Alternatively, several people will be going on holiday early as there doesn’t seem to be any teaching in week 12 for certain schools. I get the impression that the academics didn’t like having a week of their winter holiday taken from them.
An smaller alternative event is being scheduled by Blanket and Skyne for after the coursework deadlines.
Please refer to the discussion forum for more details.
